THE IDEA

Aramco is committed to becoming carbon neutral by delivering synthetic fuel that is sustainable to the environment around the globe. To showcase the development of low carbon synthetic fuels across Formula 1, Formula 2 and Formula 3 as well as their aim to achieve net zero emissions by 2030, we created two interactive experiences for the fan-zone and paddock club which both educate and entertain fans.

 
 

THE TECHNOLOGY

Through augmented reality, we crafted two unique experiences which entertain F1 enthusiasts and raise awareness on low carbon synthetic fuels. Our Aramco paddock experience invites guests to walk around an enlarged 3D printed F1 engine in which specific hot spots get highlighted for users to learn more about Aramco’s sustainability goals and aim to lower carbon emissions through synthetic fuel.

Our F1 fan-zone experience, powered by unreal engine, allows us to realistically display an F1 vehicle and create a truly interactive experience. Through screens available on site or upon scanning a QR code on their mobile, F1 enthusiasts are able to fully customise their dream car through webAR, from colour, to back wing, and ultimately share it onto their socials.

 

THE RESULTS

Through a set of augmented reality experiences, we were able to connect people who share a strong passion for F1 across 20+ countries whilst educating them on the future of synthetic fuel and how Aramco aims to address carbon emissions for enhanced sustainability. 

Our fan-zone experience alongside its social sharing functionality allowed users to save and share their customised F1vehicle on their favourite social media platform, whilst the Paddock club experience entertained and raised awareness on Aramco’s synthetic fuel strategy through an  impressive 3D printed engine overlaid with augmented reality, ultimately inspiring guests for a better future in F1 racing.
