THE BACKGROUND
The F1 2021 season was a season like no other. With an epic wheel to wheel battle that saw Lewis Hamilton & Max Verstappen compete for the title until the very last lap of the very last race, or clash of titans between McLaren and the Scuderia Ferrari racing to make sure they would take home the coveted best of the rest designation. The 2021 season was truly a season like no other. With that in mind we were tasked to tell the different stories as they were unfolding with real-time edits for a live audience attending the last three grand prix’s of the year.
THE EXECUTION
Over the course of 3 consecutive weeks, WE set up a war-room where our team could react in real-time to the different stories that were unfolding in the paddocks, the garages and of course on the track. The films were scripted, produced, and broadcast live to local and international audiences on live television. With a total of 18 films, including the two world championship celebration movies, F1 fans got A CHANCE TO FEEL LIKE THEY WERE IN THE DRIVING SEAT AS THE thrilling battles UNFOLDED.
HOLLYWOOD-PROOF
It wouldn’t be a true F1 experience if the worlds most glamorous celebrities were not invited to join in the conversation. Georges Lucas, Anna Wintour or Usain Bolt all took to their phones to shout their support to the drivers for what was to become one of the most talked about races of all time. THE DIFFERENT FILMS WERE PUSHED OUT IN THE LAST HOURS LEADING UP TO THE START OF THE ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX, FURTHER ENHANCING THE FANS TO THROW THEIR SUPPORT BEHIND THEIR FAVORITE DRIVER.
